The Sansari-Killar-Tandi road was blocked following flash flood in the Shansha nullah in Lahaul and Spiti district today. Vehicular traffic on the road came to a standstill. The police said that as soon as the water level recedes, the road would be restored to traffic.

Besides, a few link roads in the Lahaul region were also damaged in flash floods in the past two days. However, no loss of life was reported.

As temperatures have risen in the Lahaul valley, snow at glaciers is melting rapidly, increasing water discharge in rivers and rivulets.
