Yesterday, flash flood in the Miyar valley of Lahaul and Spiti district had damaged agricultural land and crops. According to official sources, seven farmers of Changut village in the Miyar valley lost their crops. The district administration was assessing losses caused due to flash flood.

Besides, a few link roads in the Lahaul region were also damaged in flash floods in the past two days. However, no loss of life was reported.

As temperatures have risen in the Lahaul valley, snow at glaciers is melting rapidly, increasing water discharge in rivers and rivulets.
