Rotary Club organises free eye camp at Kullu school
The Rotary Club Kullu organised an eye examination camp at Government Senior Secondary Girls School in Sultanpur, Kullu.
The club president Anshul Prashar said the eyes of 213 students and school teachers were examined by experts and 23 students were referred to Rotary Hospital at Bajaura for treatment. Additionally, medicines were provided free of cost to the students who needed these.
The president elaborated on the club’s commitment to eye health, stating, “Our experts not only conducted examinations but also educated students on how to prevent eye diseases and maintain good eyesight. This initiative aims to equip students with knowledge that will help them avoid potential eye-related issues in future. We plan to organise similar camps in other schools extending our reach to benefit more students.”
He added that such camps were also organised in rural areas. Apart from this, the Rotary Club was also running a hospital and providing eye treatment to the needy people, he said.
School principal Bhavna Tanwar said the camp greatly benefited the students by detecting and resolving numerous eye problems. Dr PD Lal, founder member of the Rotary Club Kullu, along with other club officials, were present at the event.
In addition to the eye examination, the camp served as an educational platform. Experts discussed various topics related to eyesight, emphasising the importance of regular eye check-ups and healthy eye care practices. This holistic approach aimed to provide healthy eyes to the students.
