Chauhan, who was on a visit to Sirmaur district, said that it was a long-standing demand of Shillai people as the condition of the existing road was deplorable. “Solving people’s problems is the top priority of our government and no person should be disappointed,” he added. He also announced Rs 2 lakh each for small link roads of the area.

Rs 2l sanctioned for community hall

  • Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan announced Rs 2 lakh for the construction of a community hall at Shillai
  • He directed the panchayati raj representatives to forward to him the names of poor people, who needed financial aid for education and health purposes, for the grant of Rs 10,000 each

The minister said that mutual harmony and coordination among local people was important for development. “If even one person creates obstacles in development, the work gets delayed. The consent of local people is necessary for providing road connectivity, especially in rural areas. There should be no politics in development,” he added.

He said that during the BJP rule, the Chief Minister and ministers came to the Shillai constituency many times but neither talked about development nor allocated funds. “They kept coming only to do politics over the Hattee issue. Our government will improve all roads in Shillai. Adequate funds have been provided in the Budget for the development of the area,” he added.

Chauhan directed the Jal Shakti Department to quickly complete the process for the construction of the Sindhibagh-Howrah drinking water project from the Giri river to be built at a cost of Rs 5 crore.
