Minister for Sports and Youth Services Yadvinder Goma, while presiding over a public function in Jaisinghpur of Kangra district yesterday, said that the construction of an Indoor stadium in the constituency would start soon.
He said that development works were being expedited in accordance with the aspirations of people in the Jaisinghpur Assembly constituency. An indoor stadium would be constructed in Jaisinghpur at a cost of Rs 15 crore. Initially, Rs 5 crore was sanctioned for this. Two high-mast lights would also be installed on this ground. Keeping in view the importance of Jaisinghpur’s Ramlila Kala Manch, Rs 15 lakh had been sanctioned for its renovation, the minister added.
Goma was the chief guest of the closing ceremony of the four-day zonal level under-14 (boys and girls) sports competition at Government Senior Secondary School, Tumber, in Jaisinghpur. Goma gave away prizes to the winners of various sports competitions from among 220 players of 18 schools of the Shiksha Khand, Chadiyar.
