Chamba, July 6
An amount of Rs 170 crore is being spent on the upgrade of 154-A national highway from Katori Bangla to Bharmour in Chamba district. Kangra Lok Sabha MP Kishan Kapoor stated this while presiding over a meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) here today. He impressed upon the officials concerned to expedite the construction work on 154-A national highway.
Kapoor said that 102 Amrit Sarovars were being built in the district and the construction work was in progress. He issued instructions that the work be completed before August 15.
While reviewing the work being done by Jal Shakti Vibhag, the MP said an amount of Rs 84 crore had been spent under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He directed that necessary steps be taken for expansion and promotion of drinking water schemes of the district.
In the health department, Kapoor said over Rs 72.82 crore had been spent on providing free treatment to 11,936 beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat and Him Care scheme in the district. He directed officials to add eligible people to the health department.
Kapoor said about 70,000 farmers were involved in agriculture activities in the district. In such a situation, special attention should be given to Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana to further strengthen the economy of farmers and orchardists.
It should be ensured that 100 per cent beneficiaries of Kisan Samman Nidhi had credit cards, he said. He called upon the people to get their crops insured. MP Kishan Kapoor launched the Atal Adarsh Gram Abhiyan.
Deputy Commissioner DC Rana informed that Mangla panchayats had been selected under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.
