Rs 200 cr road network being laid in Shimla Rural: Minister

PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several schemes worth Rs 40 crore in Ogli panchayat in the Shimla Rural Assembly constituency. “Our priority is to build a network of roads to village so that the rural areas move towards development. My goal is to take effective steps towards doubling the income of women in this region. We are working at a rapid pace to establish a milk collection centre in Jallog. Milk cooperative societies are being formed," he said.

The minister said a network of roads was being laid in Shimla Rural at a cost of Rs 200 crore. These roads would be completed within the next two years. “Providing basic amenities to every village in the Shimla Rural area is our priority,” he said.

The minister inaugurated the Pandoa Khad to Kel Bagri lift drinking water scheme for eight gram panchayats in the Seraj region. The drinking water scheme was completed at a cost of Rs 19.25 crore. The scheme will benefit the people of eight panchayats, namely Bagh, Dharogda, Ogli, Himri, Karyali, Domaihar, Bharada, and Chebari. Two storage tanks with a capacity of 131,500 and 85,000 litres have been constructed under the scheme, along with four pump houses.

The minister also inaugurated the Kadarghat to Palg Serkadi road. This road has been constructed at a cost of Rs 6.61 crore. He also inaugurated the Chewadi to Serkadi road constructed at a cost of Rs 36.57 lakh. The minister distributed sewing machines to 42 women's groups during the programme.
