A sum of Rs 33 lakh has been approved for development works at four schools of the Dehra Assembly constituency, as announced by MLA Kamlesh Thakur. The funds are intended for the construction of additional classrooms and boundary walls to enhance educational infrastructure in the region.
Sharing details on the funding, the lawmaker said that the sanctioned amount includes Rs 2 lakh for Government Primary School, Kundihar; Rs 20 lakh for Government Senior Secondary School, Bhatoli Fakorian; Rs 10 lakh for Government Senior Secondary School, Sunehat, and Rs 1 lakh for Government Primary School, Karol. These have been approved in favour of the DPO Kangra under a special grant for the current fiscal.
Thakur emphasised the initiative aimed at providing a better learning environment for students. “This will also help raise the standard of education,” she added.
The announcement is being hailed by community members. Block Congress president Pushpendra Thakur, General Secretary of the District Congress Committee Indrajit Sharma and local panchayat representatives expressed gratitude to MLA Thakur, praising her ongoing efforts for the development of the constituency.
