Sports Minister Yadavindra Goma laid the foundation stone of the sub-divisional office building of the Jal Shakti Department at Haled in Kangra district. The facility, to be built at a cost of Rs 43 lakh, would benefit 17 panchayats in the region.
Goma said the new office would spare residents the inconvenience of travelling to Lambagaon for drinking water-related issues. He assured people that the project would be completed in six months. He added that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had inaugurated the Jal Shakti Division office in Lambagaon and now, the establishment of the sub-divisional office at Haled reinforced the government’s commitment to decentralised services and improved public access.
The minister said that the Haled-Mungal road had been included on the MLA priority list and its reconstruction would begin soon. He added that the government school at Haled had been named after martyr Neel Kamal and Rs 6 lakh had been sanctioned for roadside drains through the Block Development Office.
He also announced Rs 3 lakh from the MLA LAD fund for road construction and Rs 20 lakh for the development of a playground. Agriculture Produce Market Committee Chairman Nishu Mongra said that Rs 23 lakh had been approved for the renovation of the Jaisinghpur vegetable market and tenders were being processed. A piece of land was also inspected for a proposed vegetable market at Panchrukhi yesterday.
