Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania presided over the annual prize distribution function of Government Senior Secondary School, Awanh, in his home constituency Bhattiyat today. He extended best wishes to the school students for their bright future.

Pathania said the design of the school building should be based on future requirements and gave directions to the Public Works Department’s design wing in this regard.

He added that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu would be visiting Bhattiyat next week and would be apprised of the health and education institutions here.

The Speaker said that under the lift drinking water scheme, Rs 76 lakh had been sanctioned for solving the water supply problem in Awanh village. He announced a grant of Rs 25,000 for promoting cultural activities at the school and gave away awards to meritorious students. Principal Nitika Sharma presented the annual report of the school.
