Recognising young achievers, Negi awarded Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000 to students who secured the first, second and third positions, respectively, in the district-level girls’ boxing championship.

Addressing the gathering, Negi said the state government under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is prioritising education, healthcare and rural development to uplift the financial and social conditions of people in remote areas. “The government is diligently working to compensate disaster-related damages by amending the Himachal Pradesh Relief Manual and ensuring basic facilities for all,” he said.

Negi also highlighted that welfare-oriented legislations like the Forest Rights Act, 2006, Himachal Pradesh Nautor Land Rules, 1968, Right to Information Act, 2005, MGNREGA and the Mid-Day Meal Scheme were contributions of previous Congress governments that have consistently championed the cause of the poor and marginalised.

Later, the minister inaugurated two bailey bridges, one 120-foot bridge on the Kafnu, Yangpa road constructed at a cost of Rs 2.10 crore and another over the Bhawa Khad on the Ralo road costing Rs 2.30 crore. He also interacted with villagers and assured redressal of their grievances.
