DAV Centenary Public School, Mandi, on Sunday organised a ‘Run for DAV’ marathon in a bid to promote health, fitness, and sportsmanship among its students.
The event witnessed active participation from students and teachers. The marathon was inaugurated at 6.30 am by Mandi Additional Superintendent of Police Sachin Hiremath, the chief guest at the event.
After a welcome by principal KS Guleria, the chief guest urged students to make fitness an integral part of their lives. Around 170 students from classes IX to XII participated in the 5-km run, which began at the school’s main building in Khalyar, and concluded at Bhuli.
Along the route, teachers cheered the participants on.
In the boys’ category, Atharv (XII-C), Sujal Sharma (XI-B), and Tanish Thakur (IX-C) secured the top three positions, while Mehak (X-B), Agrya (IX-D), and Jagrati (IX-C) bagged the top spots in the girls’ category.
The chief guest presented cash prizes and certificates to the winners. Guleria lauded the participants, and thanked the chief guest.
