Education Minister says Rs 27 crore approved for Gumma-Reoghati road
Education Minister Rohit Thakur today inaugurated the Dhandronti-Kehmali road constructed at a cost of Rs 1.19 crore. He also inspected the work on a primary health centre at Purag village in Kotkhai being constructed at a cost of Rs 1.91 crore.
The minister said that the metalling and tarring of the Pudag link road was underway at a cost of Rs 35 lakh and around Rs 27 crore had been approved for the Gumma-Reoghati road under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Phase-3. This road was an important link between Gumma and Tikkar. Besides, Rs 35 lakh had been approved for the construction of a panchayat bhawan at Pudag, he added.
Rohit said that roads, which were the lifeline of development, was a crucial task in a hill state. “The Jubbal-Kotkhai Assembly constituency has seen unprecedented infrastructure development over the past three years. As many as 148 roads have been completed during the tenure of the Congress government,” he added.
Also, he said that road and repair projects worth Rs 500 crore were underway. “A massive investment is being made on basic amenities such as electricity, drinking water, building construction, education and health,” he added.
The minister said that new milestones had been achieved in road construction, particularly in the past three years, with the approval of Rs 300 crore under the PM Gram Sadak Yojana whereas not even one road was approved in the Jubbal-Kotkhai area during the previous BJP government.
