Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann should sack his Health Minister for misbehaving with Dr Raj Bahadur, Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid Medical University, said Prem Kumar Dhumal, former Chief Minister, here today.

He said that Dr Raj Bahadur is a doctor of international fame and regarded highly in medical fraternity. His contribution to the medical field was exceptional that could not be undermined by an irresponsible politician, he added.

Dhumal said that the misconduct of the Punjab Health Minister had demoralised the medical fraternity. “If ministers of the AAP government cannot pay respect to honorable doctors, they should at least refrain from insulting them,” he added.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Kaul Singh Thakur also criticised Punjab Health Minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra for ‘insulting’ Dr Raj Bahadur.

Kaul Singh said, “The Punjab Health Minister should tender an apology to Dr Raj Bahadur. It is not the duty of the VC to check hygiene in hospitals. The Principal and the Medical Superintendent of the university are responsible for hygiene.”
