Shimla for Peace and Harmony, a forum comprising several civil groups, took out a Sadbhavna Yatra in the city to send a message to maintain peace and harmony in the state. People from different communities took part in the march, raising slogans against attempts to ‘communalise the peaceful environment of the state’.

The rally started outside the DC office and concluded in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue on The Ridge. At the end of the march, people took a pledge to abide by the Constitution and maintain peace and harmony in the city and the state.

"In the last few days, we have seen that attempts are being made to communalise the environment in the state. This march is to reiterate the peaceful and secular character of the city," said Sanjay Chauhan, former Mayor of Shimla.
