Addressing the gathering on the occasion of the school’s 48th Raising-cum-Annual Day celebration, Thakur said in its 48 years of establishment, the school had carved a distinct identity among the 33 Sainik Schools across the country and was often referred to as the “Nursery of the National Defence Academy (NDA)”.

Thakur expressed his desire to see the institution ranked among the best when it celebrates its golden jubilee two years from now. “I have always been committed to enhancing facilities here,” he said, adding he had earlier facilitated the provision of a generator and an ambulance to ensure uninterrupted studies and emergency medical support for cadets.

He said a state-of-the-art indoor stadium with a capacity of 1,000 persons was being developed on the campus. The multi-purpose facility, he said, “will give new wings to the dreams of young sportspersons”.
