Sale of meat, fish prohibited during Shri Renuka Ji Fair
Trade will be allowed at a temporary site near the Jalal Bridge end, on the left side of Tirmali-Dayad road
The District Magistrate, Sirmaur, Priyanka Verma, has issued an order prohibiting the sale of meat and fish on the fairgrounds during the International Shri Renuka Ji Fair scheduled to be held from October 31 to November 5.
The aim of the order is to preserve the religious and cultural sanctity of the centuries-old fair, which attracts thousands of devotees and tourists every year. As per the directive, no meat or fish shops will be permitted to operate within the fair area for its entire duration.
To facilitate limited trade outside the fairgrounds, the district administration has identified a temporary site for meat and fish sales near the end of the Jalal Bridge, on the left side of the Tirmali-Dayad road.
Shri Renuka Ji Fair, one of Himachal Pradesh’s most prominent religious gatherings, celebrates the divine meeting of Lord Parshuram with his mother, Goddess Renuka.
