A three-day stress relief programme was organised at the Directorate of Samagra Shiksha in Shimla for its employees in collaboration with the Art of Living Foundation. The programme, attended by around 120 officers and employees, aimed to equip participants with breathing-based techniques to manage stress and improve their overall well-being. The sessions were conducted by a team of trainers from the Art of Living Foundation, including Shweta Gupta, Sonia Minocha, Ginny Goyal, Mamta Sood and Naveen Narwal.
The programme included Sudarshan Kriya, a guided breathing technique developed by Sri Ravi Shankar, which has a profound positive impact on participants. The sessions also included various yogic exercises and pranayama, designed to increase flexibility, reduce muscle tension and boost energy levels.
The trainers highlighted the scientific benefits of Sudarshan Kriya and breathing techniques, emphasising their positive impact on the nervous system, hormonal balance and overall well-being. Regular practice of these techniques can help reduce stress, improve focus and enhance productivity in the workplace.
The employees participated enthusiastically in the programme, sharing their experiences and benefits gained from the sessions. They reported feeling mentally stronger, more relaxed and motivated to incorporate these techniques into their daily routine.
Samagra Shiksha Director Rajesh Sharma emphasised the importance of prioritising employees’ mental and physical health, stating that this initiative is crucial for ensuring their well-being and productivity. He assured that Samagra Shiksha will continue to organise such programmes in the future to support the holistic development of its employees.
