It is a proud moment for Lawrence School, Sanawar, as its distinguished alumnus Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been appointed as India’s Ambassador to the USA.
Sandhu, who passed out from the school in 1979, has maintained closed ties with his school. He has even credited his school for shaping him for a diplomatic career when he was the chief guest at the School Founder’s Day function in 2017.
“On behalf of the school, we wish him a very successful tenure as the Ambassador of the country. With an extremely successful stint as High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, I am sure that he will do the same for the Indo-US relations. It is indeed a very proud moment for the school,” says Shonu Mukherji, Officiating Headmistress of Lawrence School.
At the Lawrence School from 1972 -1979, Sandhu was Head Boy and won the prestigious President’s Medal for best all-rounder.
