Sangh to protest 'anti-worker' policies

The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh celebrated its 66th foundation day at Fatehpur last evening. The event was presided over by Madan Rana, state vice-president of the sangh.

Rana said they would launch a week-long drive to highlight long-standing demands of workers by submitting memorandums to the Centre through SDMs and DCs across the state from July 24 to 30.

They would also hold a protest against alleged anti-workers policies of the government. Rana said private companies had increased the working hours of workers from 8 to 12 hours.

The sangh is also seeking the status of government employee for anganwari and Asha workers. The sangh said if the government was unable to regularise their services, then these workers should be given a monthly salary of Rs 18,000.
