The process to declare Sangrah, in the Trans-Giri region under the Shri Renuka Ji Assembly constituency of Sirmaur district, as a nagar panchayat has officially begun. Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Verma announced that the proposal, issued by the Principal Secretary (Urban Development), aims to ensure better development and systematic civic management in the area.
According to the state government’s notification, residents of the proposed Nagar Panchayat Sangrah can submit written objections to the DC’s office by August 21, 2025 — within two weeks of the notification’s publication in the Himachal Pradesh Gazette. Objections received after this deadline will not be considered.
The DC has instructed the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Sangrah, District Development Officer, District Panchayat Officer, Assistant Commissioner (Development)-cum-Block Development Officer Sangrah and District Public Relations Officer to give wide publicity to the notification. Detailed reports, along with any objections, are to be sent to the state government within the stipulated timeframe.
Upgrading Sangrah’s status is expected to bring improved infrastructure, better municipal services, and structured governance to this remote but significant Trans-Giri region — paving the way for planned urban growth and improved quality of life for residents.
