Various Hindu outfits have given a call for a protest on September 11 against the decision of the Municipal Commissioner’s court to schedule the next hearing in the case of an unauthorisedly constructed mosque at Sanjauli in Shimla.
The decision angered the Hindu outfits as well as local residents, who were hoping that orders for the demolition of the structure would be issued. Posts are being circulated on social media platforms calling upon people to join the protest in Sanjauli on September 11. However, some people on social media are condemning the protest call and demanding
police action against those who were creating communal tension.
SP, Shimla, Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said that no person had sought permission for a protest in Sanjauli nor permission had been granted for a protest. He added that the police were keeping tabs on social media and identifying people who were spreading such messages. “Stern action will be taken against such people. If anyone of them is a convict or is out on parole, their bail will also be cancelled,” he said.
