Mandi, June 13
Sardar Patel University Mandi has received UGC affiliation. “The University Grants Commission, New Delhi, has granted 2(f) status to Sardar Patel University Mandi today. The university was established with effect from April 1 this year by the Act Number 3 of 2022 of the state legislature of Himachal Pradesh as the second state university,” a spokesperson of the university said today.
“With the 2(f) status, the university can award degrees as specified by the UGC under section 22 of the UGC Act 1956,” he said.
Vice Chancellor of Sardar Patel University professor Dev Dutt Sharma and Pro Vice Chancellor professor Anupama Singh expressed happiness over the inclusion of university’s name in such short time in the list of universities as per section 2(f) of UGC Act 1956.
They said that this would not only help the students to enroll and register themselves for UGC NET examination but will also help university to get financial aid and grants from the UGC.
