Mandi, February 6
Public Works Department Minister Vikramaditya Singh inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development projects worth more than Rs 20 crore at Arsu panchayat in Nirmand subdivision of the Anni Assembly constituency of Kullu district yesterday.
He inaugurated a 10.5-km Sheel-Juagi road built at a cost of Rs 8.27 crore, Tharla-Shagofa road built for Rs 2.62 crore and the Kot link road constructed at a cost of Rs 71 lakh. He laid the foundation stone of the Thansh-Ksheni-Barnala road and the Kathanda-Kutwa link road.
He presided over the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme in Nirmand subdivision of the Anni Assembly constituency in Kullu. As many as 52 complaints and demands were received from Arsu, Kot, Bari, Badidhar and Nishani panchayats and most of these were resolved. The minister directed the officials concerned to dispose of the remaining complaints in a time-bound manner and submit a report regarding action taken through the SDM within 15 days.
Vikramaditya said that two additional rooms of the rest house would be constructed at Arsu. Besides, efforts would be made to reconstitute Anni nagar panchayat. He assured local people of taking appropriate steps for the construction of a polytechnic institute at Dalash in the constituency.
He said that the officials concerned should solve the problems of people on priority and ensure quality in construction work. He added that negligence in quality construction would not be tolerated. He added that the state government had started the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme to ensure that people’s problems and complaints were resolved in their areas.
The minister said that the objective of the programme was to provide information about various ambitious schemes and decisions of the government for the overall development of the state. He added that the government had taken many important decisions in the past one yea for the welfare of common people.
