Satpal Singh Satti, Chairman of the State Finance Commission, has said Rs 41 crore is being spent in the current financial year to strengthen road infrastructure in the Una Assembly segment. He was addressing a public gathering after laying the foundation stone of a new panchayat building in Chattarpur.
The leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said the road linking Sanoli, Majara, Malukpur, Chattarpur, Binewal and Ajouli panchayats near the Punjab border had been strengthened at a cost of Rs 5.25 crore. He added that a new 11 KVA electricity substation was set up at a cost of Rs 4.56 crore in Chattarpur village.
Satti said when the Jai Ram Thakur government took over, the Santoshgarh Nagar Panchayat had only 16 electric transformers, but in the last two years, 36 new transformers had been installed in Santoshgarh, easing the problem of low voltage. He announced that 20 streetlights would be installed in Chattarpur panchayat for the convenience of residents. — OC
