Savour authentic Himachali flavours at Rural Taste Fest
The five-day festival features 15 stalls set up by various development blocks of Shimla district.
Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh on Friday inaugurated the state-level Rural Taste Festival-2025 at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, Shimla.
Highlighting the significance of the event, the minister said the festival aims to bring national and international recognition to Himachali traditional cuisine while promoting nutritious, millet-based products. He emphasised that the festival would create new avenues of self-employment for rural women, strengthening their economic independence and reaffirming the state government’s commitment to women empowerment.
The five-day festival features 15 stalls set up by various development blocks of Shimla district. Of these, 13 stalls showcase authentic Himachali delicacies, while two highlight millet-based items. Prepared and served by self-help groups, the dishes not only promote local ingredients but also offer visitors a chance to savour the unique flavours of Himachal.
