The Directorate of School Education has written to all Deputy Directors to ensure that all lecturers teach students of Class VI to XII instead of teaching only Class XI and XII. The Deputy Directors have been instructed to file a compliance report within two days.

Meanwhile, Ajay Negi, president of the School Lecturers Association, said, “Wherever trained graduate teachers are not available, lecturers voluntarily teach lower classes. And if lecturers are forced to take all sorts of classes, what will teachers appointed to teach Class VI to X do?”

Meanwhile, Education Minister Rohit Thakur directed the Deputy Directors to regularly conduct surprise visits in schools and initiate action against teachers who violate government orders. The directions had come after the Director, School Education, visited a school at Khalini, Shimla, on September 9, and found the principal absent without intimating the Deputy Director concerned.
