Schoolchildren showcase spirit, strength
The Auckland House School for Boys was abuzz with energy and enthusiasm as students from the senior section demonstrated exceptional athleticism and sportsmanship during their Annual Sports Day held on Saturday.
The event featured a vibrant array of activities, including Guard of Honour, precision marching, dumbbell PT, yoga, lazium PT, taekwondo, stick PT, gymnastics and more. A wide spectrum of races and competitions — from skipping, flat and skating races to basketball, ball relays, tug of war and even musical chairs — added excitement to the day. Notably, crowd-favourite events such as teachers vs students and ladies vs gentlemen drew loud cheers and heightened the festive atmosphere. Parents too enthusiastically joined in dedicated races, making it a wholesome community celebration.
Vivek Bhatia, Special Secretary-cum-Principal Private Secretary to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, he motivated the students to embrace sports as an integral part of life, highlighting the importance of physical fitness, discipline and holistic development.
Principal John, in his concluding remarks, said, “It’s not just about winning, but about participation and the spirit of teamwork that truly counts.” He applauded the students and staff for their dedication and teamwork in organizing a seamless and spirited event.
