The CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (CSIR-IHBT), Palampur, hosted a curtain-raiser for the India International Science Festival (IISF)-2025 with enthusiasm. More than 300 students participated in the programme.
Sudesh Kumar Yadav, Director, CSIR-IHBT, welcomed the participants, including school and college students, from nearby areas. He apprised the gathering that the IISF-2025 would take place at Panjab University, Chandigarh, from December 6 to 9. He said that the aim of the festival was to celebrate science by fostering curiosity, learning and engagement. He encouraged students to actively participate in this vibrant national event.
Shashi Dhiman, Professor of Physics at Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla, delivered the keynote address. He offered an insightful overview of India’s scientific heritage and its relevance in today’s world. She elaborated on this year’s IISF theme, “Vigyan Se Samruddhi: for Aathmanirbhar Bharat” and urged everyone to contribute towards building a self-reliant India that serves the global good.
