A new Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) polyclinic was inaugurated today at Brahmpur village in Gagret subdivision, making Una the first district in the country to have two such facilities. Lt Gen Ajay Chandpuria, GOC Vajra Corps, presided over the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest.

The first ECHS polyclinic has been operational for several years at Rampur on the outskirts of Una city. The newly inaugurated centre will provide primary healthcare to veterans, Veer Naris and their dependents, along with referrals to empanelled hospitals for specialised treatment. Facilities at the new polyclinic include an emergency room, dental clinic, pharmacy and clinical laboratory. A dedicated medical officer and dental officer will offer their services.

While addressing media queries, Lt Gen Chandpuria said ‘Operation Sindoor’ was still ongoing, with only its first phase completed. He cautioned that, based on historical precedent, Pakistan may violate the ceasefire and affirmed the Indian armed forces are fully prepared for a major offensive, if needed.
