Self-defence programme

A self-defence programme was organised at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dharamsala Cantonment. The purpose of the programme was to make students aware with of their power to fight against any kind of attack. Some self-defence techniques were performed by two trained students. Many strategies for self-protection were deliberated upon by Principal Pushpa Sharma. Science Day was also celebrated on the occasion. Sunita, Kiran and Vansh, all school teachers, demonstrated some experiments and highlighted several scientific achievements.

Students qualify NTSE

Two students of Comet Mensa Senior Secondary Public School, namely Arsh Jaswal and Harsh Choudhary, have cleared the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) conducted by the NCERT in November 2019. Of all schools in Himachal, only 59 students of 43 schools qualified and from Kangra, nine students from six schools cleared the examination. The two students will now appear for the national-level exam and after qualifying it, they will be entitled for a scholarship.

National Science day celebrated

National Science Day was celebrated at St Bede’s College. The theme was ‘Women in Science’. The function commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. It was followed by a series of presentations. A presentation on biotechnology was shown by first-year students with a special emphasis on the contributions of women in the field of science. This was followed by a presentation on biofertilizers – their types and advantages. The third presentation was on Chandrayan-II and Gaganyaan, including the intricacies and technicalities of the projects and the scientists who were a part of it.

Bagni DAV Students excel

Saksham Salaria and Aman Koundal made MCM DAV School Bagni proud by winning third and 37th positions in the National Talent Search Examination held on November 3, 2019. It was organised by the NCERT wherein Saksham scored 169 marks and Aman scored 123 marks. Principal MR Rana congratulated the students for this extraordinary achievement.

Mother Language Day celebrated

International Mother Language Day was celebrated at the Central University by the Hindi Department. Prof Baldev Bhai Sharma, chairman of the Journalism and Mass Communication Department, was the Chief Guest. Dr Rajkumar Upadhyay ‘Mani’, president of the Hindi Department, delivered the keynote address.
