Under the leadership of Palampur SDM Netra Mehta, an awareness seminar on the theme “Financial security is everyone’s right” was held today to inform the public about various central and state government social security and financial assistance schemes.

The seminar aimed to educate citizens about key schemes related to insurance, pension, health, scholarships, and housing, and to encourage their active participation. Detailed information was provided on initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Ayushman Bharat – PMJAY, Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Kalyan Yojana, Himcare, Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Yojana, and Swarna Jayanti Ashray Yojana. Attendees were guided through the eligibility criteria, application process and benefits of these schemes.

Dignitaries present included Dr Ashish Sharma, Commissioner, Palampur Municipal Corporation; Atul Gupta, Senior Branch Manager, LIC-Palampur; Manoj Kanwar, Senior Business Associate, LIC; Rimpal Guleria, Regional Head, ICICI Bank, and Monika Dubey, Head of Brand Management, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance. They addressed the audience and stressed the importance of financial awareness and inclusion.

In her keynote address, Netra Mehta emphasised that government schemes could only achieve their true purpose when the information reaches every citizen. She described the seminar as a crucial step toward building a more informed, self-reliant and secure society, urging attendees to not only benefit from these schemes but also spread awareness in their communities.

The seminar saw enthusiastic participation from panchayat leaders, PRIs, and residents from across the Palampur subdivision. It successfully fostered dialogue between the administration and the public, promoting greater engagement with welfare initiatives.
