Services partially restored on narrow gauge railway track
The Ferozepur Division of the Northern Railway on Thursday partially restored train services on the Pathankot-Jogindernagar narrow gauge track after three months.

As per a notification issued by Paramdeep Singh, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (SDCM), Northern Railway, Ferozepur, last evening, two trains (up and down) have been scheduled to ply between Baijnath (Paprola) and Kangra railway stations.
The train services were suspended from Nurpur Road to Baijnath on July 6 after heavy rain triggered landslides at several places on the track. According to SDCM Paramdeep Singh, the railway section was closed in view of the safety of passengers. He said after undertaking repairs between Baijnath and Kangra railway stations, the train services were partially restored on the track on Thursday.
As per the notification, two pairs of trains have started operating between Baijnath and Kangra railway stations. Train No. 04700 departed from Baijnath (Paprola) railway station at 6:30 am and reached Kangra at 08:45 am. Train No. 04699 departed from Kangra at 9:30 am and reached Baijnath (Paprola) at 12 noon. Train No. 04686 departed from Baijnath at 3 pm and reached Kangra at 5:10 pm and train No. 04685 departed from Kangra at 6 pm and reached Baijnath Paprola at 8:20 pm. These trains will halt at Majhehra, Panchrukhi, Patti Rajpura, Palampur, Sulah, Paror, Chamunda Marg, Nagrota, Samloti and Kangra Mandir stations during the up and down journeys.
The Railways is likely to restore the train services from Nurpur Road to Kangra railway station in the first week of October. A railway spokesperson said massive damage of the railway track had occurred near Ranital railway station due to the monsoon rains and ongoing work of the Pathankot-Mandi highway project. The repair work on the damaged track is under progress after removing debris from the track.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Sahu, Divisional Railway Manager, Ferozepur, said the train services would be restored from Nurpur Road to Baijnath railway stations as and when ongoing the repair work was completed. He said the re-construction of the inter-state Chakki railway bridge in Nurpur was also under way and the work was likely to complete in March next. This would facilitate the restoration of the train services on Pathankot to Baijnath narrow gauge railway track.
