The campaign, which began on September 17, witnessed the donation of more than 1,900 units of blood across the state. Blood donation camps will continue at various locations until September 25. On September 18, cleanliness drives were held at 171 sites, while free health camps are being organised between September 18 and 25.
In this sequence, a multispecialty health camp was held in Panjahar panchayat of Sirmaur district, benefitting more than 250 patients. The camp, organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with support from doctors of Sai Hospital, provided much-needed medical consultation and check-ups to the local community.
BJP state president Dr Rajeev Bindal, who inaugurated the camp, underlined Modi’s commitment to Himachal Pradesh, particularly during the natural disasters of 2023, 2024 and 2025. He noted that since 2023, the Centre has extended Rs 5,300 crore to the state for relief, rehabilitation and development works. Earlier this month, the Prime Minister visited disaster-affected areas, conducted an aerial survey, met families in Dharamsala and sanctioned an additional Rs 1,500 crore. With this, total central assistance has reached Rs 6,800 crore, alongside one lakh houses approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Dr Bindal urged the state government to ensure that every rupee of central aid reaches affected families promptly and transparently. He also called on the Congress-led state government to increase its own financial contribution, pointing out that only Rs 300 crore had been spent from state resources in the past three years.
