A minor boy attacked the woman while she went to fields to cut grass
A 40-year-old woman, who was seriously injured in an alleged sexual assault in a village, near here, died at the PGI, Chandigarh, late Thursday night. The accused, a minor, has been detained.
The minor boy had attacked the woman on November 3, while she went to fields to cut grass. Villagers found her lying in a pool of blood and rushed her to the local medical college and hospital. However, she was referred to the PGI, Chandigarh, due to her severe injuries. SP Bhagat Singh Thakur said the accused was detained and he had admitted to have committied the crime. As the accused was a minor, he would be dealt with under the juvenile law, the SP said.
