Demanding investigation into the alleged irregularities in the recruitment of professors, the Student Federation of India (SFI) Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) unit here today staged a protest against the university authorities.
The SFI also asked the university authorities to stop outsourced recruitments and recruit non-teaching staff.
During the protest, SFI co-general secretary Santosh said the student body has been demanding the university authorities to recruit non-teaching staff for a very long time. The main reason behind the delay in declaration of results is the shortage of non-teaching staff, he added.
“The university administration had issued recruitment notifications for this in June 2020, September 2021 and January 2022, but till date it has failed to conduct this examination. The university administration does not lag behind when it comes to collecting fee from students, but when it comes to conducting examinations, they are not able to do it,” he said.
The SFI also alleged that was by the university administration had issued an order in which it was mentioned that not more than five members of a student organisation can meet the university authorities at a time.
