Shah syndicate kingpin arrested

Eleven drug peddlers, including the kingpin of the Shah syndicate, an inter-state illicit drug racket that has been supplying drugs mainly herion via a supply chain, have been arrested, the police said here on Monday.

The accused have been identified as Sandeep Shah, the kingpin of the syndicate, Neeraj Kashyap, a resident of Delhi, Shubham Shandil, resident of Rajhana village in Shimla, Sandeep Dhiman, resident of Rajhana, Sanjay Verma, resident of Chamiana village in Shimla, Vishal Mehta, resident of Lower Khalini, Shimla, Ashish, resident of Kotkhai, district Shimla, Prajwal Jasta, resident of Panog village in Shimla, Nitin Khepan, resident of Shimla, Ankit, resident of Dodra Kwar, Shimla and Abhinav Kanwar, resident of Theog in Shimla.

While the of the drug peddlers were arrested on January 25 and 26, Neeraj was arrested by the police from Delhi on January 19 while Shah was arrested by the police from Kolkata, West Bengal on January 16 from where he was airlifted to the state. Shimla SP Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said a supply chain has been operating with the aid of online bookings through various social media platforms indicating a well organised syndicate.
