Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip in Himachal Pradesh Assembly, Kewal Singh Pathania, participated in the district-level Jatar Mela held at the historical Mata Shiv-Shakti temple complex in Chattrari on Saturday.

Adorned in a traditional Gaddi attire known as Chola-Dora, Pathania offered prayers at the temple, seeking the well-being and prosperity of the people of the state.

Amid the melodious tunes of traditional instruments like the shehnai, dhol and nagara, Pathania also joined the locals as they performed the Dandaras folk dance. He emphasised the unique identity of Himachal as “Devbhoomi” (Land of the Gods) and expressed his deep affection for the people of Chamba.

Pathania also gifted electric kettles to more than 200 participants from various groups who took part in the fair. Recently, the Chatrari Jatar Mela has been given the status of a district-level fair.
