Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri yesterday discussed the Shimla Ropeway Project with members of New Development Bank (NDB), Shanghai.

A three-member team of the NDB from Shanghai met Agnihotri and discussed various issues related to funding of the project. The Deputy CM assured the team that all necessary formalities would be completed by the State Government so that the bank could proceed with loan negotiations with the Department of Economic Affairs as per the timeline fixed in the memorandum.

Agnihotri said the project would go a long way in reducing traffic congestion in the town. The Rs 1,734-crore project would have 13 boarding and de-boarding stations, with a total length of 13.80 km.
