Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, has decided to work towards joint research projects, student exchange programmes, collaborative publications, and an annual international conference series as part of international partnerships.
The university has also decided to continue promoting international collaboration programmes to provide students and research scholars greater exposure to global platforms.
These decisions were taken during a review meeting, held recently on the HPU campus under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Mahavir Singh. During the meeting, an action taken report (ATR) of an international conference organised by TS Negi Government College, Reckong Peo, was discussed in detail.
The VC said the conference was a milestone for the college as well as for the university.
He appreciated the leadership of college Principal Uttam Chand, and the vision of chief advisor BS Chauhan.
He said the dedication and professionalism of all organising committee members, faculty, research scholars, and volunteers had strengthened university tradition.
Singh added that, through such events, the university would continue to enhance its presence and collaboration in the global academic arena. The ATR noted that the conference featured speakers from the US, UK, Italy, Russia, Japan, Canada, and Germany. “At the national level, experts from JNU, Panjab University, Allahabad University, Delhi University, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, and Central University of Jammu made significant contributions. The international conference served not only as a platform for academic exchange but also prominently showcased the potential of higher education in the remote mountainous regions of Himachal Pradesh at the global level,” Chand said.
Research scholars shared their experiences of the conference, along with insights into global perspectives and future research directions.
