Shimla law varsity seeks research talent for disability policy project

The Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, has announced walk-in interviews for the recruitment of Research Associate, Research Assistant and Field Investigator under a Major Research Project funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi.

The project, titled “Assessing Disability Policies and Legislation: Case Studies from Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand,” focuses on evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of disability-related laws and welfare schemes in both states. The advertised positions are purely temporary and will be co-terminus with the duration of the project. Recruitment will be conducted as per the norms and conditions set by ICSSR and the university.

For the post of Research Associate (Social Science), applicants must hold a postgraduate degree in Social Sciences with at least 55% marks and have a minimum of two years of experience as a Research Assistant in any funded project. Preference will be given to candidates who hold NET, MPhil or PhD qualifications. Proficiency in computer operations, familiarity with statistical software such as SPSS and strong academic writing skills in English are also desirable. The selected candidate will receive a monthly remuneration of ?47,000 in accordance with ICSSR guidelines.

For the post of Research Assistant (Social Science), candidates must have a postgraduate degree in Social Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks. Additional qualifications such as NET, MPhil or PhD will be considered advantageous. Applicants should also possess basic computer proficiency and strong writing skills in English. The monthly remuneration for this post is Rs 37,000.

For the position of Field Investigator (Social Science), applicants must have a postgraduate degree in Social Sciences with at least 55% marks. Preference will be given to candidates with good computer skills and the ability to write effectively in English. The remuneration for this position is Rs 20,000 per month.

A university spokesperson stated that interested candidates must fill out the application form in the prescribed format, which is available on the university’s ERP portal. Further details regarding interview dates and reporting instructions will be published on the official HPNLU website.
