Shimla MC launches ‘Samadhan Shivir’
The Municipal Corporation, Shimla, launched its grievance redressal drive, ‘Samadhan Shivir,’ in Chotta Shimla ward. The initiative aims to resolve issues faced by residents of Chotta Shimla, Benmore, and Vikasnagar under the corporation’s jurisdiction.
The camp was inaugurated by Surender Chauhan, Mayor of Shimla, who personally listened to public grievances. Officials addressed complaints related to garbage collection, sewerage leaks, drainage, parking, and other civic issues.
Mayor Chauhan stated that this drive ensures quick and timely resolution of grievances. Under the initiative, offices of the corporation will be set up in all 34 wards of Shimla. Officials from departments such as Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL), HP State Electricity Board, Forest Department, and Public Works Department will be present to hear and resolve complaints on the spot.
During the camp, officials recorded grievances along with complainants’ phone numbers to update them on the action taken. Similar camps will be organized across all 34 wards, ensuring broader public engagement in civic issues.
Additionally, the corporation conducted a cleanliness drive in Chotta Shimla ward as part of its ongoing sanitation campaign.
