Shimla MC orders demolition of 6-storey building
Shimla, July 20
The Shimla Municipal Corporation today ordered the demolition of a six-storey building in the Kacchi Ghatti ward. The building was unauthorised as its maps were not passed as per the MC.
The decision in the case, which was pending since 2016, was taken up by the Municipal Commissioner’s Court. Municipal Commissioner Bhupinder Attri ordered the demolition of the building.
Besides, the MC decided to impose a penalty of Rs 10,000 for the digging going on in Jakhu for the development of a plot. As per the corporation, protection walls were not installed at the site.
The civic body directed the removal of an iron structure in Bharari, besides ordering taking down of additional constructions in Lakkar Bazaar. Sixty-three cases were listed in the court, which is held every Saturday.
