Shimla MC seeks public input for 2025-26 budget

The Municipal Corporation is inviting suggestions from local residents to help shape the budget for the 2025-26 financial year. Preparations are underway for the MC to present the budget in February, with meetings being organised with key officials under the leadership of the Mayor to finalise the provisions to be included.

Mayor Surender Chauhan stated the MC’s primary focus would be the overall development of the town, alongside efforts to generate additional revenue. He emphasised public input would be crucial in ensuring the budget reflects the priorities and interests of residents. The Mayor said last year, too, the MC had sought public suggestions and this approach would continue.

The MC would also consult with councillors on the budget.
