In a bid to enhance the appeal of popular tourist spots, the Municipal Corporation of Shimla has decided to beautify parks near The Ridge and The Mall. These locations, which attract visitors throughout the year, will see significant improvements to provide a better experience for tourists and locals alike.
The beautification plan includes Daulat Singh Park at The Ridge and the park opposite the Rotary Club building at The Mall. The initiative will introduce new benches, chairs made from old pine tree stumps, vibrant flowers, enhanced lighting, and a music system. Additionally, a selfie point will be developed, offering visitors a picturesque spot to capture memories.
Shimla Mayor Surender Chauhan recently held discussions with SJVN representatives regarding the project. He emphasized that efforts are being made to upgrade existing parks and develop new recreational spaces across the town. The work will commence as soon as the corporation receives the required budget.
Furthermore, the upcoming municipal budget for 2025-26 will focus on creating additional parks and playgrounds in Shimla. The Mayor is set to present the financial plan in the coming days, aiming to expand green spaces and leisure areas for the public.
With these initiatives, Shimla hopes to enhance its scenic beauty and attract more tourists while providing better recreational facilities for residents.
