Shimla: Parking lot to be made operational
Shimla: Shimla Municipal Corporation is set to make the newly constructed parking lot at Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir in Kachhighati ward operational. Having a capacity to park around 200 vehicles, the Corporation has started the tendering process. The civic body is aiming to hand over the parking lots to the contractors by the end of this month. Apart from this, tenders for several small parking lots in Tutikandi, Khalini, Kaithu and Kacchi Ghati are also being invited. TNS
Shimla MC seeks nod to axe trees
Shimla: The Shimla Municipal Corporation has directed the officials of the Forest Department to send the report of the five-member Tree Authority Committee to the state government for approval to get rid of dangerous and dry trees across the town that are posing threat to residential areas. The tree committee headed by Shimla Mayor Surender Chauhan along with the officials of the Forest Department are conducting visits in all the wards of the town from where the corporation has received requests to either cut down or to lop the dangerous and dry trees. He said that the dangerous trees will only be axed and lopped after receiving the permission of the state government.
