The document verification process for the recruitment of police constables in Shimla, which had earlier been postponed due to heavy rains, landslides and disruptions in road and communication connectivity, has now been rescheduled for September 28.
The decision was taken by the district police following directions from the Police Headquarters, keeping in view the safety of candidates amid ongoing rainfall that has left several parts of the district cut off due to blocked roads.
According to an official order issued by the Shimla police, the verification process for shortlisted candidates will now be conducted at Police Lines, Bharari, in Shimla on September 28.
A total of 138 candidates — 84 men and 54 women — from Shimla district have been shortlisted. Police officials have appealed to all candidates to appear for the verification process at the designated venue and date. Candidates have been instructed to bring all original documents along with self-attested photocopies as specified in the recruitment notification.
