Shimla school’s U-19 boys’ team bags bronze at North-Zone basketball meet

The under-19 team of Auckland House School for Boys (AHS), Shimla, have bagged the bronze medal at the North Zone CISCE Basketball Tournament-2025, held recently at Trinity School, Hoshiarpur (Punjab).

The U-19 boys’ team secured the spot after winning a match against the Gurdaspur team in the third-place play-off.

penultimate round.

From the school, Arhan Shah, Sushant Mukkar, and Samarth Thakur (standby) have been selected to represent the North Zone (Himachal Pradesh) at the National CISCE Basketball Championship.

The U-17 boys’ team defeated the Hoshiarpur team in the quarterfinals, and narrowly missed a place in the finals, losing to the Ludhiana team by a margin of 39-38.

“Our boys have made us immensely proud by proving that excellence at Auckland House School is not confined to academics alone, but also extends to sports and other co-curricular pursuits,” AHS principal Reuben John said, congratulating the teams. “This achievement reflects the school’s growing reputation in the sporting arena, backed by training and mentorship under head coach Navneet Thakur.”
