Shimla youth booked for reckless stunts on Solan highway
A Shimla youth has been booked by the Solan police for rash and negligent driving after engaging in dangerous motorcycle stunts at Shamlech on the Solan-Shimla highway.
The stunts, which were posted on social media, caught the attention of the Solan cyber cell during routine monitoring of unlawful activities.
On February 25, the cyber cell official discovered a video on the Facebook account of one Manjul Pnatu. The video showed him performing perilous stunts on his motorcycle near the Shamlech tunnel on National Highway-5, close to Solan.
As a result, the police registered a case against him under sections 281 and 125 of the BNS for rash and negligent driving, and endangering the safety of others.
Manjul, a resident of Dhadi Gunsa village in Jubbal, Shimla district, was found to have a history of engaging in similar dangerous stunts. The investigation revealed that he had posted another video of such stunts on his Facebook account on February 24.
To promote road safety, the Solan Police urged all drivers—especially two-wheeler riders—not to engage in reckless behavior, as it poses serious risks to their lives and others.
Solan SP Gaurav Singh reinforced the message, urging everyone to prioritise their safety on the road.
