During the quarterly meeting of the Zila Parishad, Shimla, held under the chairpersonship of president Chandra Prabha Negi, several important issues and proposals were discussed to enhance public facilities in the region.

Zila Parishad member Subhash Kainthla demanded the establishment of a pollution check centre at Kumarsain, citing the lack of such a facility between Theog and Rampur. He also proposed installing an anti-hail gun in Narkanda to protect apple orchards, which would benefit local horticulturists significantly.

The meeting featured extensive discussions on sectors including tourism, healthcare, horticulture, education, water supply, forestry, roads, animal husbandry, revenue, agriculture, social justice, and transport. Member Neema Jasta expressed concern over discontinued HRTC routes and unserviceable buses in Chopal. Officials explained that several buses were scrapped under a Central Government policy but assured that new buses would be introduced soon.

The parishad also reviewed departmental responses to proposals raised in previous meetings. President Negi emphasised the need for prompt action by officials to ensure delivery of basic facilities at the grassroots level. She directed that show-cause notices be issued to all officials who failed to attend the meeting, stressing that their absence impedes development assessments.
